Will the PM’s new plan stop illegal boats arriving in Britain? – BBC Newsnight

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced a new five-point plan to stop illegal immigration into Britain.

The plans include doubling the number of Home Office caseworkers, a new deal with Albania, a Small Boats Command Centre, doubling National Crime Agency funding, and to move up to 10,000 asylum seekers out of hotel accommodation.

Newsnight’s UK Editor Sima Kotecha investigates whether this new plan will reduce the number of small boat crossings.
