One of the Russia’s top spy chiefs was pressed by President Vladimir Putin to clarify what he was saying and to speak clearly, in a meeting on the recognition of rebel-held Ukraine states.
It came as the head of Russia’s foreign intelligence service Sergei Naryshkin shared his views on the situation.
The West has widely condemned Mr Putin’s recognition of the independence of the so-called people’s republics of Luhansk and Donetsk, tearing up a peace accord with Ukraine.
