The right to abortion is a key issue for many women in the US Presidential election, according to opinion polls. They suggest that the issue could have a big impact in the swing states where the election will be won and lost.
Republican leaders have supported tough restrictions or an outright ban on abortion and that has been proving a liability for Donald Trump, who has been changing his public position on the issue.
Meanwhile Kamala Harris is highlighting her support of abortion rights as she seeks the votes of pro-choice women.
