The withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan last year unfolded in chaos as the Taliban seized back power.
An inquiry has found ‘the total absence of a plan’ for evacuating Britons and Afghans who had worked with British forces.
It also found ‘systemic failures in intelligence, diplomacy, planning and preparation’ on behalf of the government.
