Farmers are using smartphones to track and keep their cows safe – with no need for physical fences.
Norwegian company NoFence allows farmers to draw virtual fences themselves, which connect to electronic collars on the cattle.
The collars send sound alerts or electric shocks to the animals if they stray too far.
However, animal rights group PETA has expressed concerns about the impact of the technology on the animals.
