When India imposed a coronavirus lockdown last year, it upended the country’s live music industry without any warning.
With gigs cancelled and concert dates pushed back, performers across the country were left without an audience.
That pressure forced many of the artists online, and some carved a new stage for themselves on Instgram.
These singers and musicians – Mansa, Aishwarya Suresh Bindra, Mali and Tarun Balani – have found massive popularity as they find new ways to connect with fans.
But can social media completely fill the void of live performance spaces?
