US grand slam-winning tennis icon Billie Jean King has said tech generating analytics in real-time of players’ performance is the future of the sport.
“It is already here,” she said. “It is going to get better and better.”
The technology has been used at the Billie Jean King cup finals held in Glasgow in collaboration with Microsoft, which is the largest international annual team competition in women’s sport.
Analytics are generated from ball-tracking cameras and 3D radar systems around the court, which are then accessible to professionals and coaches in real-time during their play.
