In Ukraine’s north-east, Russia has recently deployed an estimated 100,000 troops in renewed attacks.

But it is the increasingly sophisticated drone attacks that are particularly feared.

Russia is seeking to cement its control of the eastern regions where it has captured territory, much of which was recaptured by Ukrainian forces last September.
