Officially, the Barbie movie isn’t showing in Russia. But unofficially, screenings have taken place across the country.
Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, some Hollywood studios stopped releasing movies in the country, but unauthorised copies of Barbie are getting through.
Russia’s culture ministry says the film is not in line with “traditional Russian moral and spiritual values."
Some cinemas have been selling tickets to Russian-made shorts and showing the Barbie feature film as the preview.
