Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated military personnel on preventing a "civil war" following the aborted Wagner rebellion.
“You’ve essentially stopped a civil war, you acted properly and in a coordinated manner,” he said in a speech at the Kremlin.
He also called for a minute’s silence to honour the pilots who fell in the aborted mutiny.
The Russian leader also said Russia was not forced to withdraw military units to take part in what he calls the "special military operation" in Ukraine in order to put down the mutiny.
