Russia has launched a wave of air strikes aimed at the country’s civilian infrastructure, the Ukrainian government has said.
Most missiles have been intercepted by air defence systems but some have hit in the region of Lutsk, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi and Cherkasy, reports suggest.
Five missiles fired at the capital Kyiv were shot down according to an advisor to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office.
Ukraine’s energy distribution company said it would limit electricity supply in several cities including Kyiv while power outages have been reported across the country.
