Putin critic ‘unbroken’ by 25 year prison sentence, says mum – BBC News


Vladimir Kara-Murza, one of President Putin’s most vocal critics, was convicted of treason and other alleged crimes and jailed for a quarter of a century.

His mother, Elena Gordon, stood beside beside the dock – a glass cage – in a Moscow courtroom as the verdict was given.

Speaking to the BBC, Elena said her son’s spirit "remains unbroken" despite his sentence of 25 years, but says she is worried for his health.
