More than 33 million people in Pakistan, one in seven of the population, have been affected by the flooding, officials estimate.
This year’s record monsoon is comparable to the devastating floods of 2010, the deadliest in Pakistan’s history, which left more than 2,000 people dead.
UN chief Antonio Guterres has warned that Pakistan is facing "a monsoon on steroids", after floods submerged a third of the country.
As he launched a $160 million appeal to help the tens of millions affected by the disaster, Guterres urged the world to come to Pakistan’s aid.
