Newspaper editor defends Meghan and Prince Harry tabloid headlines – BBC News

Ian Murray, of the Society of Editors, has defended the British media’s treatment of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, after their interview with Oprah Winfrey was aired.

Speaking to Oprah, Prince Harry said racism from the tabloid press that filtered into the rest of society was a "large part" of why he and his wife left the UK.

However, Mr Murray, the executive director of an organisation setup to protect press freedoms, has said the Duke’s claim that the press is bigoted is "just not true".
