The Russian security services say at least 40 people been killed and more than a hundred injured at a concert hall near Moscow in what the authorities have called a terrorist attack.
Video on social media shows at least four people dressed in camouflage clothing, opening fire as they enter the lobby of Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk. Russian media say explosions were heard. It also show concert goers screaming in terror and running for their lives as gunshots are heard in the main auditorium.
The building was engulfed in flames, with a huge column of black smoke reaching up into the sky. High winds reportedly limited the ability of fire engines and helicopters to douse the blaze.
