Moldova: On the energy frontline from the war in Ukraine – BBC Newsnight


As inflation in Moldova hits 30%, many people are struggling to pay the bills.

Russian missile strikes in neighbouring Ukraine have led to blackouts across Moldova, with warnings of more outages in the coming days.

Russia has previously accused Moldova of breaking its energy contracts and have threatened to cut already reduced supplies further.

International Correspondent Joe Inwood investigates the effect the war has had on Moldova’s wine industry and why protestors have taken to the streets.
