Firefighters are battling five wildfires in and around Los Angeles, almost 24 hours after the first blaze broke out in the Palisades area.
Authorities say there is "no possibility" of bringing the flames under control yet as the Santa Ana winds and dry weather conditions worsen the situation.
Tens of thousands of residents have been told to flee, with footage showing cars abandoned along one road.
