One year on from Masha Amini’s death, Iran’s protests may have subsided, but women have found new ways to defy the country’s regime.

Last year, the death of 22-year-old Mahsa after being detained by Iran’s morality police sparked unprecedented protests across the country.

Today, several people in Tehran have described bold acts of rebellion that would have been almost unthinkable to Iranians this time last year.

But Iran’s regime is not backing down.

A draft law, currently before parliament – the so-called Hijab and Chastity Bill, would impose new punishments on women who go unveiled.
