India PM Narendra Modi’s visits Russia’s Vladimir Putin | BBC News

Russian President Vladimir Putin has welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and toured him around his Novo-Ogaryovo home outside Moscow ahead of official talks in the Kremlin on Tuesday.

Putin greeted Modi as his "dear friend" and said he was "very happy" to see him, according to Russian state media reported.

This is Modi’s first foreign visit after he won a rare third term in office in this summer’s elections.

The BBC’s India Business Correspondent Arunoday Mukharji explains why trade will be top of the agenda during the summit.
