How the Ukraine war became stuck | BBC News


Almost two years since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the front line of the war has barely moved in 12 months.

Both sides have launched counter-offensives but just 900km2 of land changed hands in the second year of the war, compared with 130,000km2 in the first.

The BBC’s analysis editor Ros Atkins looks at what three locations on the front line tell us about the reasons the war has become stuck.
