The three SNP candidates in the race to replace Nicola Sturgeon as first minister of Scotland have taken part in their first of many broadcast debates.
The election itself could determine the SNP’s approach to everything from achieving independence, to economic policy, to where it stands on issues of ethics and identity.
The SNP is a broad church of more than one hundred thousand, and traditionally an argumentative one, but Nicola Sturgeon powered on with a key purpose and iron discipline.
