Ern Malley’s tragic life was filled with the stuff of poetic dreams. An English migrant to Australia in the early 20th Century, he was orphaned in his teens and met an untimely death at the age of 25.
His poetry was discovered after his death and he was praised as one of Australia’s greatest poets, whose work is still inspiring creatives today.
But there’s one catch – Ern Malley never existed. He, and his work, were the product of an elaborate literary hoax.
