Donald Trump impeachment: The debate that led to acquittal – BBC News

Watch the key moments from the US Senate floor during the historic impeachment vote to clear Donald Trump on the charge of inciting the deadly attack on the US Capitol.

A majority of senators – 57 to 43, including seven Republicans – voted to convict former President Donald Trump, 10 votes short of the 67 required to convict Mr Trump on a charge of incitement to insurrection.

If Mr Tump had been convicted, the US Senate could have voted to bar him from running for office ever again.
