COP28 climate conference enters second day in Dubai | BBC News

In the last few hours we’ve seen world leaders starting to arrive in Dubai for the COP28 climate conference.

The UN summit follows a year of extreme weather events in which many climate records have been broken.

So far, speakers have included the UK’s King Charles III and UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres.

"We are living through climate collapse in real time," the Guterres said, confirming that 2023 will be the hottest year on record.

COP28 is the 28th annual UN climate meeting where governments will discuss how to limit and prepare for future climate change.

The summit is taking place from 30 November until 12 December 2023.
