Many people hope that Colombia’s new president being sworn in this weekend, Gustavo Petro, fulfils his campaign promises to end violence and offer young people a chance to shape their future.
The country has been wreaked by decades civil war, and while violence has fallen overall since the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (Farc) laid down their weapons in a peace deal, dissidents and armed gangs have filled the void with devastating consequences.
