Can tech help to combat the illegal trade in elephant ivory? | BBC News


The transnational trade in modern ivory is banned in a bid to protect elephants – but the trade of ancient mammoth tusks is not.

However, telling the difference between illegal elephant ivory and legal mammoth ivory has proven to be a real problem for border security.

But now, lasers could the solution.
