There’s no doubt Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, nearly one year ago, stirred up strong feelings in this country. But how many Britons felt so strongly that they actually went to fight there?
Thousands of foreign volunteers are fighting for Ukraine, evidently taking big risks, among them a UK contingent.
Eight British fighters and aid workers have been killed there since last February, and others badly injured.
