At least 28 people have been killed and 54 injured in an Israeli strike on a former school sheltering displaced people in central Gaza, paramedics and health officials say.
The Palestinian Red Crescent says the strike hit Rufaida school, near the headquarters of the Palestine Red Crescent Society headquarters, and their emergency medical teams responded.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says it "conducted a precise strike on terrorists who were operating inside a command and control centre in the area of Deir al-Balah".
